YTL Power International Berhad, an investment holding company, provides electricity, clean water, sewerage systems, and communication services in Malaysia, the United Kingdom, Singapore, Australia, and Indonesia. The company operates in five segments: Power Generation, Multi Utilities Business, Water and Sewerage, Mobile Broadband Network, and Investment Holding Activities. It owns and operates two gas-fired combined cycle power plants with total generating capacity of 1,212 megawatts (MW) in Malaysia; 3,100 MW of installed capacity comprising steam turbine plants, combined-cycle plants, and co-generation combined-cycle plants in Singapore; 1,220 MW coal-fired thermal power station in Indonesia; and high voltage electricity transmission network with approximately 5,700 circuit kilometers of transmission lines and 88 high voltage substations in Australia, as well as supplies water and treats sewage in the United Kingdom. The company also owns and manages 4G wireless broadband network under the YES brand; provides wired line and wireless broadband access; develops and markets VoIP telephony and other network media appliances; develops, constructs, completes, maintains, and operates power plants; and provides oil trading and oil tank leasing, finance, public entertainment, events, public relations, food waste processing, engineering and construction, laundry, construction management, entertainment promotion, consultancy, and power station operation services. In addition, it sells electricity; issues bonds; manages Wessex water pension scheme; sell and markets telecommunication devices; develops Web environment products; operates as an education license provider; and provides advisory and management services to educational institutions.
